The weather has changed, and so has our direction of travel. We’re heading east! The original plan was to spend a day in Capital Reef National Park, but to be honest, we’ve seen enough red cliffs and parched landscapes. Arches was beautiful, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the adventure hikes, but time to find some regular sized trees and bodies of water. We’ve decided to drive through Rocky Mountain National Park on the way home.
Storms blew through overnight and the wind is still blowing at over 26 mph. Inspite of the wind we decided to ride the Colorado Pathway trail again before leaving Moab. There were white caps on the river and the sand was blowing around, but the ride was still beautiful.

We drove highway 128, the Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway out of Moab and arrived at Saddlehorn Campground in Colorado National Monument for lunch. Another beautiful place!
We took a bike ride on Rimrock Drive. We only went a couple miles out because the wind was blowing and the drop offs didn’t all have guardrails. Beautiful scenery.

After dinner in the camper we took a sunset hike around the campground and visitors center. The views were spectacular.
